Hello here is a little bit about me

Sharron Harris is a community film-maker who leads Curious Ostrich Productions - a collective of freelance film and video makers, artists, musicians, graphic designers and other highly creative specialists.

Sharron is experienced in most aspects of video and music production.

She has taught both theoretical and practical university modules and written and delivered more informal community based media courses.  She works with Apple’s Final Cut Studio, Logic Pro and various Adobe resources.

Sharron has been involved in various aspects of community arts and media throughout her youth and adult life.  As a social/youth worker in the mid 1980’s she set up a video and music project utilising her skills towards motivating young people.

She now works with youth organisations, community projects, schools, inter-generational initiatives and a variety of groups in the public and third sector.  Many of the projects she has produced have received both national and international awards and screenings.

Today her passion for community arts and media is fuelled by the increasing accessibility of multimedia technology that facilitates a community’s ability to produce media rather than just merely consume.   Media education, at all levels, provides vital tools that allow individuals to greater understand and critique the world in which we live.
